Frequently asked questions

Does Totus Ceramics offer private pottery classes in Espoo?

Yes. Every course at Totus Ceramics is genuinely private — solo, or with one other person you already know. Nobody is ever paired with strangers, so you receive individual attention in a calm, forest-side studio.

How many people can join a session at Totus Ceramics?

Most sessions can be booked solo or as a pair — with someone you already know, never a stranger. A couple of listings are solo-only or pair-only by design. This private format ensures unhurried time with clay and personal guidance throughout.

Do I need experience to take a hand-building course?

No prior experience is needed. All Totus Ceramics courses are designed for complete beginners as well as those who want to deepen their hand-building practice. There is no pottery wheel — everything is built by hand.

What is included in the course price?

The price covers everything — materials, tools, firing, and glazing where applicable to that course, all VAT-inclusive. And there's always tea and biscuits on hand.

Do you use the wheel and offer pottery wheel workshops?

No — our workshops are focused entirely on hand-building. We don't use the pottery wheel; instead, you'll work with techniques like coiling, slab building, pinching, and carving to create textured, sculptural pieces by hand.
