The rise, 2022
€330
A female form emerges from a raw, unshaped mass of black stoneware — half still clay, half fully realised body, caught in the exact moment of becoming. The piece doesn't hide its process; the rough, untouched texture at its base is left deliberately unrefined, a visual record of where the figure began.
The Rise speaks to transformation — the slow, difficult work of pulling yourself out of something heavy, and the moment you finally break the surface into air and light again as a new form finding her footing in a world seen through changed eyes.
Cast in black stoneware, the piece carries weight and gravity, grounding the transformation in something solid and real rather than fragile or fleeting.
A deeply personal work, for anyone who has known what it means to come back from somewhere dark and finally see the light again.
