A crescent of white porcelain, its surface built up with hundreds of small pressed forms, rests on a sphere of black stoneware. Two materials that don't quite belong together — and yet. The balance required to make this piece hold is not mechanical. It took longer than it should have, and the result is quieter than the effort.
